Cruising for the Bike Plan

May 7, 2013

Ever wish you could ride your bike around town and point out all of the holes in our cycling infrastructure to someone that could actually fix them?

Well, here’s your chance.

In advance of the Bike Plan meeting at the library on Thursday, the Town of Chapel Hill is hosting a ride with the architects of the Chapel Hill Bike Plan.

The ride leaves Chapel Hill Town Hall at 5:30pm.

I can’t make this, but, somehow getting them to link with sister city Durham would be great. Bike path, bike lanes…whatever. Just a way to ride out to Durham for commuting.

Any step is a good step for this stuff!

I’m actually on the Bike Plan Steering Committee and the Durham connection has been one of the most consistent suggestions.  Also, don’t forget about the Bike Plan public forum at the Chapel Hill Public Library on Thursday from 6pm to 9pm.  It’s not necessary to be there for all three hours.

I second the Chapel Hill / Durham bike route.

15-501 is filled with speeding & texting drivers & Old Erwin has no wiggle room. It is difficult to do due diligence during Bike-To-Work Month when the commute from the Hill to Dook is so dangerous.

I will try to be at the forum to put in my two cents.
