Bike-In Movie Night!

October 30, 2012

When the weather turns foul, it can be easy to lose your enthusiasm to ride.  All true cyclists know that the best way to chase away the winter chills is to bundle up and ride it out, but oftentimes it’s the first step (from your warm house to the cold outdoors) that can be the hardest.

The key is to find a good destination.

This Thursday night, that destination is Lucky Star Market (106C N. Graham St.) for the return of the Back Alley Bike-In Movie Night.  A long held tradition that’s been held more tightly some years than others, we’ve at last worked our way out of the cold alley behind the Recyclery, and into a climate controlled environment.

Join us this Thursday, Nov. 1st at 8pm for a mountain biking then and now double feature:

First up, the 2006 documentary Klunkerz traces modern mountain biking back to its California roots in the 70’s.  Witness as young, stoned future industry moguls hurtle themselves down steep mountain passes and explain why they do it (“No cops, no collars, no concrete.”):

Followed by 2012’s Where the Trail Ends.  Witness as young professional mountain bikers fly all over the world doing backflips off some of the most remote mountaintops on the planet and explain why they do it (“So gnarly”):

Free to attend.

Libations and comestibles will be available for purchase and consumption on premises.

Doors at 7pm.  Show at 8pm.
