Animal Collective

Over the course of the last decade or so, Baltimore’s Animal Collective have evolved from a psych-folk noise project into a psych-noise dance music and found surprising success along the way.  Each album features increasingly accessible melodies and rhythms as their most consistent feature, a tapestry of static drone psychedelic chaos, has shifted from main character to supporting role.

Their most recent album, Centipede Hz, even features a song that could almost be mistaken for a full-fledged radio hit, Today’s Supernatural:
