When I started Back Alley Bikes five years ago, it was based on a pretty simple vision: bicycles break and I know how to fix them. Much to my surprise, running a business is a LOT of work; way more work than I ever imagined (at times 90+ hrs. per week).
As a result, I have developed a heightened appreciation for the local businesses that I love, and have habituated myself to support them in ways beyond simple patronage to ensure their survival (using cash, writing online reviews, linking them to this blog, etc.).
If you’ve got some favorite local businesses (like a favorite bike shop? wink, wink), here’s your chance to help them stay afloat by voting for them in the Independent Weekly’s Best of the Triangle 2012.
Get your votes in before April 15th:
While you’re at it, if you’ve got a little more time to kill, then you should consider peppering the interwebs with flattering reviews of your favorite businesses on Google Places as well.
