I love the giant, new sharrows on Weaver St. Their size and placement makes it look like car drivers are guests in the bike lane. Considering the fact that roads were originally paved in the late 19th and early 20th centuries to facilitate bicycle use, you could call these “historically accurate sharrows”.

They make you stop and wonder if you are supposed to be there when you are driving the car. I did not know the word “sharrows” but will try to work it into as many sentences as I can going forward.

I stop and wonder if I’m supposed to be here all the time, with or without the sharrows.

I wonder how much trouble I would get in for painting my own a la Yehuda Moon…

This is the best block of Weaver St. to be unencumbered by the confines of carmetal. The cyclist blends in with the pedestrians, musicians, dogs, cafe society while the motorist has to make do with yet another traffic jam.
