Cyclist Attacked in Chapel Hill

March 22, 2011

Oddly, the police have found the attacker, but they’re still looking for the victim.

via trianglecycling.com:

Chapel Hill police officer Orbach is looking a bicycle commuter who was assaulted this morning, 3/21/2011 approximately 9am nearColumbia and Cameron intersection by a motorist who got out of his vehicle and struck the victim repeatedly.

He was angry because the cyclists was in the lane on MLK Blvd. going up to the light and chased the rider down. They have caught the bad guy but have no victim, I’m not sure why, the officer stopped me this afternoon on MLK Blvd. and asked me if it was me because I was riding a dark bike and had a reflective vest which fit the description of the rider.

Please relay this message to Facebook and other media and try to locate this victim so the perpetrator can be brought to justice. You can contact the Chapel Hill police department at 919-968-2767 if you have any information. It may have been an employee of the University.
