Profane Genius.

My fascination with the bizarre, stream of consciousness R&B of R. Kelly has been previously documented.  But there is one work, above all others, that I always return to, “Real Talk”.

When I was a kid, adults commonly described rap as “not music” and “people just talking over drums”.  As a description for rap in general this is a laughable description, but for R. Kelly’s “Real Talk” it’s uncannily accurate.
