While the aural environment of the bike shop is usually one of doom, gloom, and destruction, there’s always room for some good old fashioned pop music.  Granted, the pop music that falls into heavy rotation here is usually built on a foundation of melancholy (The Shins, Belle and Sebastian, Elliott Smith, etc.), but it’s pop music nonetheless.

As hard as I try to deny it, The Arcade Fire’s new album, The Suburbs, is pop.  But it’s not just pop, it’s synthpop.  You know, with keyboards and drum machines…

And I can’t stop listening to it!
