We’re three.

April 1, 2010

It was three years ago today that Back Alley Bikes first opened for business in Chapel Hill.

On April 1, 2007 our main entrance was down the alley, in the back of a building.  I think there was one “customer” that day, my friend Benji.  I was actually out running errands when he came by so I didn’t even talk to him.

Today, April 1, 2010, was a very different day.  Our door faces the street and folks started lining up outside 15 minutes before opening.  I talked to no less than 30 people in person or on the phone, I repaired 8 bikes, checked in another 6, and helped our new mechanic fix another 4 bikes.  I didn’t even have time to stop for lunch today.

Hell yeah!
