So Long Chapel Hill
Don’t panic, we’re not closing, but…
…we are moving.
What??? Again?! Yup. This will be our fourth location in six years, but this time it’s for keeps.
Where?! 100 Boyd Street in Carrboro. Right around the corner; where Nice Price Books has been for the last 26 years.
When?! Early April-ish.
WHY??? More space, longer term location, and because Carrboro doesn’t have enough bike shops.
A little bit of the back story: We’re finally following through on a deal that’s been in the works so long it’s almost become a running gag. Barry and Cindy of Nice Price Books are closing their Carrboro location and selling us the building. I, like a lot of folks, will be sad to see them go, but I am honored that they’ve chosen Back Alley Bikes as the torch-bearer for the building.
In the meantime, stock up on discount media during Nice Price’s progressive discount store-closing sale, and keep an eye out for the Back Alley Bikes store-moving sale. Please save us all from the back-breaking work of having to move this stuff somewhere else!

You will lose the Recyclery as a back-door partner and the food shop… Hmmm… but you gain the new art center… and you fill the shoes of a literary tradition.
Could you keep the book motif and lend an erudite feel to your new shop. You already have a great music connection. Books and music fill that building. Please consider lighting a new torch when you move and bring books and bikes to kids.
Good luck with the move. Do you need to borrow a moving trailer?
The food and coffee is coming with us!
We’ll definitely keep the music and maybe some select books…
Time will tell.

Yaye!!! Happy for BAB & LSM. Both of you guys will be closer… Lucky Carrboro!!! Good luck with that!!! Also, the Books & Bikes idea sounds too good to pass up, if atall ever ever possible.
And of course. Let us know if you want help moving stuff. I have friends with trailers
This is more rad than Cru Jones, yo!
how many years before the rooftop terraza discoteque?
exciting news! (once one gets past the loss of Nice Price.) glad to hear more good neighbors are coming to my office’s block. Together we can sneak into the pool at the new hotel and make nuisances of ourselves!
Boo!! Quitters!!
